The good: Michelle took our kids in when we were in an emergency situation with daycares. We desperately needed to find somewhere asap and she was accepting. Our kids seemed happy with her care. The bad: After sending our kids to Michelle for a year and a half, Michelle recommended for us to pay a deposit to hold their spots over the summer. (I am a teacher so they would stay home with me which is what I ultimately wanted). During the first week of summer, Michelle texted me out of the blue and said she did not want our kids to come back to her daycare and she “wished us the best”. We were blindsided. No previous communication of anything being wrong. No phone call explaining the change. Nothing. When I asked about our deposit, she did say she would pay it back to us. It has now been 7 weeks and she has not. She refuses to answer any of my communication about the deposit or answer any questions about why. In hindsight, there were several things that weren’t in compliance that should have raised a red flag for us earlier on, but like I said, we were always very thankful that she took us in under such short notice.
