Never again2024-09-27 02:35:56
I have used this provider for less than 6 months
My daughter always had a full, heavy diaper when I picked her up. Sometimes her diaper would be hanging to the floor. I spoke to the teacher about it, but nothing changed. I felt like a lot of the staff there took the jobs as temporary jobs out of high school or as a summer job, so they weren’t invested enough to focus on the needs of the children
As a former employee of two years, I am now free to say STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AS POSSIBLE! I would never trust my kids to be well taken care of here for multiple reasons. Reason one is the fact that the teachers are great, but child to teacher ratio is way higher than it should be. Reason number two is the teachers do not receive support or respect from the office ladies or the owners. I was employeed in the 4K room that is guided under Pulaski school district and I was teaching that class per the standards through the district and whatever I and my co teacher did, it did not line up with the owners ideas as to how it should be run, so we we told every time we say the owner that we were doing it wrong. When I finally got sick of playing games and I quit, I went in for my exit interview that was supposed to be with the owner and the office ladies, but instead the owner brought her husband to scream in my face for 20 minutes calling me unprofessional and saying other unprofessional things. The turn around is so high at this place because staff are underpaid and unsupported. I am urging you to avoid sending your kids anywhere that is titled shining stars child education center, and I urge you to look into any other childcare facility.
I am a past employee of Shining Stars Hobart. I was with the company for more than a year. They take in more kids than they are licensed to have. The owner is aware of this but makes no changes. Whenever a tour, youngstar, or licensing comes, staff are instructed via Facebook messenger to quick tidy up their room and to look for what would be viewed as violations & to hide things that would get the center in trouble (ex: purse on the ground with personal medication, sleeping cots not covered in bathroom, blankets inside infant cribs, cleaning materials sitting within reach, etc.) Staff frequently pay more attention to their phones instead of the kids, especially on the playground when the weather is nice outside. There is no disciplinary action that takes place for employees, other than “being talked to.” It does not deter employees from gossiping, raising voices at the children when they could be spoken to in a calm voice, using their phones, or calling into work at the last minute. Staff frequently leave the classrooms to gossip or socialize in other classrooms or to complain in the office. This leaves the teacher who is in the room over ratio and unable to watch all of the kids. I would never send my child to this center.
