Sugar and Spice Child Care Center Site II

I worked here for a few months. Mrs. Perry is a horrible boss. She expects us to go to trainings and doesnt pay us for it. She doesnt pay overtime but expects us to stay if need be. We were out of ratio alot and just had to deal with it. Its not very clean and little training is provided.

I did a job shadow in this location for 9 weeks, and there were a lot of things happening in the center that were not pleasant. The staff showed little to no interest in the children's actions. They paid little to no attention to what was happening. The staff were also not very kind to the children at times. There was one instance where a child was very sad because his mom was leaving. The child ran out of the room after her. A staff member chased after him, but when she brought him back, she was dragging him by the wrist. She then proceeded to place the child in the other adjoining room (with no children or teachers in that room) in a high chair, and left the child in the high chair for several minutes in the room alone. The child was screaming, but the teacher refused to go get him, stating that the child should know better than to run away. The children were a joy to be with, and the center looks like it could have potential, but the environment and staff interaction was very scary. I do not recommend this center to families, at lease until these issues have been resolved completely.
