I have used this provider for less than 6 months

We brought our 6 month old to Bernie's daycare, we payed the first and last week which is pretty standard. Bernie originally posted for a full time opening at her daycare, and we needed 2 days a week, as we had 3 days at a different daycare. She charged us $60a day, even though her week rate was $200. Our daughter has always been a great baby, only fussing when she is tired or hungry. The first two weeks seemed fine, although Bernie seems very anal, and requires a text 15 minutes prior to pickup. The 3rd week, Bernie called us on Wednesday night (we had daycare Wednesday and Thursdays every week) and said that our daughter had a hard day, and was very fussy. She stated its very stressful for the other kids because she was crying, and the other kids were stressed and upset about her crying. She said she wasn't sure if it would work out. The next day we went to pick her up from daycare, and Bernie had all of her stuff at the door in a bag, with a check refund for the last week. Our daughter rarely cries, unless she is over tired or hungry, which I feel is pretty normal, especially since she is teething. Perhaps daycare isn't the field for you if you can't handle an infant crying. The whole experience was very strange, and I feel that she's not mentally stable enough to be caring for children. We have always gotten compliments about what an easy baby she is to care for from our other daycare. I would not reccomend this daycare at all.

I have used this provider for less than 6 months

When I contacted bernie's daycare to inquire information, Bernie said she would have to call me back regarding pricing since my child was not fully potty trained. She did call back in a timely matter quoting me 125 for 5 days a week. When I met with her she could not find the paperwork where she wrote the estimate and told us she would have never quoted us 125$. She eventually called back saying that she could do 140 at the least. My child attended bernie's daycare for 4 weeks. Up front I made aware that my child would need extra help when it came to transitioning from activity to activity. She stated it would not be a problem as she has been a daycare and preschool teacher for quite some time. As long as the child got along with other kids he would be fine.I ensured her again that he would need extra help, and gave examples of his tantrums. She again assured it would be fine. She then went on to saying we would do a 2 week trial period and after that period herself or I would be able to quit services. She stated that was not likely to happen. I said that would be fine. Every time I picked my son up I asked her assistant how my his did. She never knew anything and gave me wrong information every time. I found out my child was being put in time out everyday due to the transitioning issues. She was very strict with the kids making them sit a certain way at the table which my child was not used to. She mentioned she referred to my child's actions as "acting like a monkey". Bernie decided she "didn't know if she wanted to keep my child" so she wanted to extend the trial period for another 2 weeks. She ensured she would probably keep doing services she just wanted to see if my child would change. Over the next week I continued to ask for updates Bernie and her assistant made it seem as though everything was fine. Then the 3rd week she mentioned "did I tell you Friday will be his last day" she mentioned this the Friday before. I did not return my child to her daycare even though his last week was paid for (she requires 2 weeks pay up front) and would not recommend it.
