Great place to bring your kids. Staff is very stable, especially after pandemick. Stability is very important for me. Everybody are very caring and loving. My kids reeally enjoyed Happy Place!

Outstanding service!!! It is a family run childcare and owners are always on site. Mrs. Anna always works with parents and I have never had any issues. My three kids attend Happy Place for over 2 years and we all love it. I would definitely recommend it to everybody! Also prices are very, very reasonable for services you receive and food is included!

Great place to be. Mu kids are always happy and eager to go to school every day. Teacher are very caring and really take time to know every single child. I would recommend the daycare to everybody who is really caring of quality and their children's education

I have an open door policy and always here to work with all teachers, parents, and children. As for “money hungry people” we work with all the parents and offer verity of different discounts to accommodate our customers. Also, we have one of the lowest co-pay for POC plus customers for 5 Stars facility in the area. The cleaning staff perform cleaning, such as vacuuming, mopping and trash remove daily. Also, teachers sanitize toys, tables, and chairs in every classroom daily. We value all our staff and talk to them only in the respectful, professional way in the office. If a child gets an “outchy” parents are notified in writing about what happened, and since we always keep our little owns busy with activities, we insure that “outchy” rarely happen. Diapers are changed every 2 hours and if they are solid, they are changed immediately and children are cleaned well. We invite everybody to take a tour at our facility and judge by yourself. the Problem with the daycare are not the teachers it’s the owners! They are money hungry people and do not care about the staff! I’ve heard them yelling at their employees more than once.. I’ve seen employees crying when leaving the office. They do not clean daily I have found dry old food on the chairs the children sit in when I would pick up my son. They don’t change diapers correctly, they leave crusty poop on the children’s bottoms! That lead to severe diaper rash on my sons bottom. Some of the teachers are sweet and care for the children but some need training! My child always had an ouchy and no one ever knew what happened. The playground is not age appropriate for certain ages. I will never take my son back again!!!

Sorry to hear just now about your experience, after you stayed at Happy Place for a while. We are a 5 Stars facility and our main goal is to provide a safe, nurturing, educational environment to the children. Delaware Stars require a lot of work which is true, but the outcome is amazing and everybody benefit from that, including children, families and staff. Some staff obviously does not want to put an effort and comply with Stars requirements and provide quality of care to children. In other words they call it “chaos daily”. The management always talks to staff in a professional, respectable manner and try to provide an extra support both in the classroom and in everyday situations. We provide training including monthly staff meeting, during which we support staff to overcome any obstacles. We strongly encourage all the staff to share any concerns with the management to insure that they are comfortable in handling kids in the classroom. We also give quarterly bonuses according to the employee’s performance and work ethic, as well as choosing teacher of the month and a classroom of the month who also receive monetary compensation. I used to work here and the owners were very rude and unprofessional. There was complete chaos daily. They tell everyone there rated 5 with the stars program which is true but that does not mean there respectful to there staff or children that go there. I personally have never seen a staff member hit or do anything to a child that goes here but have seen a few talk very rude to children. Most of the teachers were Great but extremely stressed because the owners would talk down to them for saying or questioning anything. I am not trying to put this facility down I just think there needs to be serious improvements.

I am not sure why there are so many negative reviews. I had both of my children enrolled here and this facility treated my kids well. The only reason I took my kids out was because my oldest started kindergarten and I changed jobs. Ana is very personable and she truly cares about the families. She always greeted my kids by first name and remembers everything. I had a great experience here and Ana runs the daycare like a home daycare.

My name is Mrs. Anna and I am the Administrator of the facility. After reading this comment I can say that it was made by a teacher who is no longer employed at Happy Place due to not following the management directions. Obviously, when you just mention the management and their children it is personal and not related to business quality. Our facility is a Five Stars Facility according to State of Delaware and we really care about all the children and the quality of care provided. All my head teachers and assistant teachers are certified according to the Delaware Department of Education and have enough experience in dealing with children. All certificates are posted by every classroom and when parents take tours they are introduced to the teachers and can see their certifications. The facility is always in compliance with Delaware Childcare licensing rules and Delaware Stars. We are almost at full capacity all year round and we also have a long waiting list. We do offer internship opportunities to highly qualified personal, during which time potential interns work directly with a certified teacher and finish all required credential to become a teacher. We employ as well as enroll teachers and children from different backgrounds and national origin and support diversity. This is also a part of been a Five Stars facility! The comment was made about my son, which obviously showing that this comment is personal, he is treated in the facility the same way like any other children including disciplinary actions. He used to go occasionally in the infant room only at the end of the day when other children has already left to visit his little baby sister. Michael has never touch any of the children in the infant room or left any bruises on infants. As for medicine, all of my head teachers are certified through the State to administer the medication to children as well me, so any time the child needs a medicine there are always a qualified personal to do so. Obviously, the person who made a comment was not aware of the child care rules.
We are very determine to provide the safe and clean facility to our children. We mop the floors every day as well as vacuuming all the carpets, removing trash, sanitize tables, chairs, and toys daily. We have automatic air fresheners to insure that the facility always smell nice. Water is served fresh every day. Happy Place participates in a food program through the State of Delaware and serve only homemade, high quality foods. Only fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, and whole wheat grains are served to the children. We serve 2 meals (lunch and supper) and a morning snack, to insure that all the children are feed well before they go home. All my teachers encourage children to eat and help the one who needs some extra help. Most of the families are really admire that their children receive quality food without any extra charge and they do not need to pack a lunch.
Happy Place uses buzz-in system to let parents and staff in and out, which is monitored by cameras both inside the facility and on the parking lot. We also check ID’s for anybody entering the facility. We enroll close to 100 children and employ over 20 employees, so my assistants and I work very hard to insure that every child receives the best quality of care. If we would be doing nothing, we would not have such high of an enrollment. Happy Place have been in business for the last five years and does not advertise for its services. All enrollment comes from “word of mouth”. That means that by providing a good services, people refer us to their friends and families.
Finally, I would recommend that anybody who is interested to enroll their children in our facility to schedule a tour and see the facility and meet the teachers. Make your judgement according to hard work we put in and according to other facilities in the State of Delaware, not but somebody’s misleading opinions. DOES NOT EVEN DESERVE ONE STAR!! I USE TO WORK HERE AND TEACHERS ARE SO MEAN TO KIDS!! THEY WOULD HIDE IN CORNERS SO THE CAMERAS COULDNT SEE THEM AND STEP ON THE KIDS FEET & SPIT ON THE KIDS... ANNA & SAM DIDNT DO ANYTHING.. THEY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN.. NEVER SEND YOUR KIDS HERE!!!

My speech challenged 2yr old started here as part of his speech therapy. The staff was 100% on board and they care. They know him, they know his moods and are genuinely concerned about the kids when they dont eat or play like they normally do. They notice things other daycares ignore. They dont jump to conclusions and they always have time to discuss your childs progress. The food is the kind you find at home. No rediculous menu. Fresh and healthy. This is family owned business and the owner is 100% involved. Some people like that some dont. She does not effect my childs day - I care about the teachers and how they interact with my child. The rest is fodder. I would recommend 100%

Sex offenders work there. Owner continued to allow a mother who worked there to continue to work there while being investigated for molesting her own children.

Happy Place accepts POC+, which means that we are allowed by law to charge additional fee to regular purchase of care and are licensed to do so. All the parents are notified about the charge prior signing the contract. In addition to that, our fees are very compatible with the fees of others centers in the area. Also, we DO NOT provide breakfast, but provide AM Snack instead, so cookies and milk are fully approved by the State as a snack. However, we provide Lunch and Supper and all our meals are freshly cooked daily and comply with the State regulations. Happy Place is honored to serve our communities and provide quality service for all the families. We are proud of being a part of STARS program and achieving STARS Level 3 of quality improvement!!!

The owner is very unprofessional. She handles any financial issues, even if a mistake, in front of everyone instead of pulling you into the office. She charges an additional $20 per week in addition to your purchase of care (which I'm sure is illegal). Needless to say, I'll be contacting my social worker and pulling my child out of this daycare. I'm a single parent that works hard to provide for their family, yet treated with disrepsect like I "live off the state" and sit at home all day. I've had issues with her more than once and it's gotten to the point where I'm completely done. The staff is okay, no complaints. I walked in on "breakfast" this morning, running late for work, and they were having MILK AND COOKIES...they're being funded to provide nutritious meals to the children and this is what they're giving them.
