Clean, caring, and well maintained facilities. The Owner, director, and staff are all committed to providing the best care for the children and families enrolled. I have been in the childcare industry for more then 14 years and I wouldn't hesitate to enroll my children at little jewels. It is truly the hidden jewel of Perryhall.
If I could give negative stars I would. My son attended Little Jewels Learning Center for over a year. In that time payment for the next 2 weeks was arranged that I would pay on Thursdays by check that was always dated for the next day, Friday, as that was when his father and I were paid.
This was an initial arrangement that had never altered. Never once was payment late in over 26 weeks. Thursday February 20, 2020 the director, Savannah, tried to cash my check early and it bounced since it was dated for Friday 2/21/2020. On that Friday, no one called me or informed me the check had bounced. It was not until I picked up my child on Monday 2/24/2020 that I was informed I would be required to pay the tuition plus a $50.00 fee.
When I asked about the need for the fee, Savannah, the director noted that it was due to a late payment. As we had never been late before I told her I wanted to discuss this matter with the owner. After my son and I had left the director called and informed me that if I wanted my son to attend school Tuesday 2/25/202 and we didn't have the tuition plus the fee he would not be allowed to stay. I still insisted on speaking to the owner but it was clear my messages were not being delivered as I have yet to hear back.
My son’s father dropped him off with just the tuition money. The school refused him because we didn't also have the fee money. With my son in tow, he went back to the bank and took out the money for the fee and headed back so my son could attend school.
Thinking all of this was settled I picked him up Tuesday afternoon and was handed a termination notice dated for Wednesday 2/26/2020. I was not refunded the money for the weeks that have been paid and the director laughed as she handed me the notice. I stood in disbelief that this was happening and I wasn’t speaking to the owner. I was appalled I asked why are you punishing my son and asked if he can't come when would we get our money back. Her reply was “when you take it to court.”
As far as the termination is concerned I will now also have to go and retrieve my son’s belongings as they were not packed with him when I picked him up on 2/25/2020. I have been ripped off and my son was punished for nothing. I do NOT recommend this learning center to anyone.
The director Savannah of this place is so unfriendly and unprofessionl. Never smiles is awful to the kids. Dirty inside looks like never has been professionally cleaned. Much favortism shown towards certain kids especially the directos own daughter going there. The owner is so clueless as to what goes on there and cant even return a phone call to parents. Im totally disgusted with this place!
I have been working at Little Jewels for the last three months. I have met a great set of employees and children. The center is clean and friendly as well as having a great teaching environment.
Awesome fun learning environment! Three new teachers with great work experience! Very clean!
