I have used this provider for less than 6 months

I want to be open and honest with other parents out there because my experience with Childrens North Park was very worrisome as both a parent and a clinician in a Healthcare setting. I have an 11 month old baby boy and have had him in daycare at (CLA in Coppell) since he was 6 months old. We loved CLA and had a very positive experience there. Unfortunately we had to move and so then began our search for a new place in Rockwall. Initially when touring Childrens Park North it seemed to be a very nice facility, the staff appeared to be friendly and not to mention everything seemed extremely organized. We decided to place him here after our tour. He spent approximately 4 days at this facility where we showed up at different times daily for pick up. Both my husband and I noticed a trend in his classroom. There were 4 other kiddos along with my son and they were ALWAYS positioned in the feeder tables or placed in a crib and where one was eating or sleeping. This was very concerning to me as both an Occupational Therapist and as a parent. This is not good for a young childs physical, emotional or social development to be placed in "baby jail" is what I call it. It appeared to me that the teachers were more interested in keeping the kiddos self contained rather then allowing chaos, exploration and social interaction, which are all essential at this age. Now I had every intention of addressing my concerns to both the director and the teachers to allow them to self correct and hopefully see change within his classroom. However, on the 4th day after picking him up (again found him placed in the feeder table and he was no longer eating) I carried him out of the classroom. I overheard another teacher in the hallway with 4 or 5 other kiddos around the 6 to 7 year old age, she was yelling at one of the children. She was not just raising her voice, she was yelling! It was very disturbing to me. So disturbing in fact that I ran out with my baby so that I could calm down and later address the situation with the director. After a couple of hours or so I then called the director to address my concerns. She was very receptive, however she had mentioned that both issues that I brought to her attention have been ongoing concerns at their facility. Needless to say I will not be returning to Childrens North Park. No child deserves this kind of neglect or be the beneficiary of someone's lack of training and/or common sense. Please reconsider this daycare. After searching there is better for your child which we plan to place him some where else come Monday morning.

I have used this provider for less than 6 months

The building is gorgeous, the security made me feel safe, I loved it. My daughters first time in daycare so I expected her to be upset. I called to check on her first day and I got "she's fine, she's fine ok?" And was rushed off the phone. Clearly I was a bother. The second day of drop off the teacher counted down her meltdown while my husband was at the door watching her. She didn't console, distract, or do anything to calm her down, just counted down and waited. That's when we made our first complaint. Fast forward a weekend...my sister was dropping my nephew off in a different class and peeked in on my daughter and she was walking around aimlessly crying. She asked the front desk and they said "she's been walking around screaming her head off for the past 45 minutes" and when my sister asked why no one was consoling her it was because "there's 12 kids in there and she's only licensed for 11" so I did them a favor and left work to pick up my daughter and I'll never go back. My sister is also taking my nephew and leaving. If you don't mind them ignoring your child, then this is the place for you.
