I want to be honest and fair with my review of Highview. In fact we left just over 6 months ago and so I wanted to give it some time before I felt like I could leave a more objective review. First of all there were many positives about this Highview, which is why I’m giving a 3 star review. We had our little boy (1 year to over 2 yrs old) here for just over a year. When we first began there we felt like it was a great place where they valued and implemented Christian values and since our boy was so young we weren’t as concerned with curriculum as how he was taken care of. When he turned a year older and we had to switch classrooms we began to observe concerns. My husband and I began to show up at different times and noticed a lot of chaos with no structured activities for the kiddos. In 3 weeks my baby had been bitten 5x and after talking to other parents their kiddos had been bit as well. After addressing our concerns we were told that there would be immediate change which included more training for the teachers. After sharing our concerns multiple times we observed no change. I realize kiddos are chaotic (especially toddlers) and that biting can occur but this was to the extreme. I’ve been a pediatric therapist for many years and I know what is acceptable and not acceptable in a daycare. I think what was most disappointing is that when we brought our concerns nothing was ever addressed. Our boy has been at a new daycare close by for over 6 months and we haven’t had one bite! And the curriculum is far more advanced and appropriate.
