Ms. Martinez liked to gossip. I knew everything about everybody; therefor, I am sure the same applied to me.
Ms. Martinez kept close tabs on work schedules. At the time of our attendance, most families were State or County employees. She would ask me to keep my kids home on these days, if other parents agreed to do the same. When I reminded Ms. Martinez of agreed schedules, statements such as, "Well ok. But she will be the only child. Won't be much fun," would emerge.
The last straw was due to an unplanned closure. I went to drop my kids on a day that was scheduled to be open. "Oh, you want me to change my plans?" Said Ms. Martinez
"Yes!"
