The Sunshine House - Powdersville

The facility is clean and they'll "babysit" your child. Complaints of immaturity within the staff are unbelievable. I've used this place for the care of my child for more than 3 years. Unfortunately, the "new" wears off, and the staff turns their noses up at you once you've been there for a while. Mixed signals come to mind when a child is disciplined for doing something bad, and is sent to the office for time out because the management usually has their "favorites" sitting with them. I'm not saying my child is perfect, but I'd much rather see fair treatment throughout all the children. How would you feel if you know you're giving just about your entire paycheck to them every week, just to come in and have them say your child has been bad EVERY. DAY. The staff will put on a front for positivity, when they are overall negative women. Please be cautious with this daycare. They may be "cheaper" and provide diapers/food, but is that really the most important thing for your child? I would not recommend this center to anyone.

I absolutely LOVE this day care. My child is well taken care of and learning and progressing happily. I would recommend this daycare to anyone in the area!!!

I agree with the comment before mine. Our situation was the same. Our child was bitten five times in one month. He was in the toddler room and when we began to see this pattern of aggressive behavior we soon realized the lack of structure and supervision in the class. There was only a few toys on the shelf and a pile of stuffed animals... how long before that got old and children became bored and fustrated and started biting. We have since moved on to a more structured and toy filled room. I would not recommend this center to anyone!

Very clean facility and I do believe the teachers care about the students, however, reports of their progress and activities during the day are vague to non-existent. I feel there is opportunity to improve this and that the facility could so so easily, however, I have shared this with them and no improvement has been made. I visited and felt this was a special place for my child but I have found that its just another daycare. They will care for your child and will do a good job but communication between you and teachers will not happen.

This facility is very impressive as far cleanliness.  The rooms are very large and always appear to be imacculately sanitary.  I think the lack of activities and structure lead to aggressive children as my child was injured or bitten on a regular basis.  I never received activity reports or weekly lesson plans, but plenty of accident reports.  I eventually left because I felt that my child was not being watched and protected in a manner I expected.  This is  a new facility and perhaps they are still trying to work out some issues, but unfortunately from my experiences I would not recommend them.
