About the Provider

The district is currently in the process of installing Aiphone systems in our elementary schools and our middle schools. The Aiphone system allows schools to keep their front doors locked at all times and buzz visitors into the building after office staff have addressed the visitor, verified their reason for visiting the school, and visually assessed the visitor through the built in camera. Currently twelve of our schools have these systems with two more systems being installed in January. We will be installing the remaining systems during the spring semester.

In addition to controlling access to our facilities, and verifying each visitor against the national sex offender checklist, we also partner with our local law enforcement agencies to provide full-time police officers at middle and high schools in our district. We are one of the only districts that has been able to retain full-time police officers at the middle school level while experiencing tremendous budget cuts. The SRO's in our middle schools are assigned elementary schools are they are expected to visit their elementary schools and respond to situations when needed. We are asking our police partners to increase visits to our elementary schools.
