About the Provider
Watoto After School Care was founded by Michelle Robinson, an elementary school educator & administrator who saw firsthand the need for an after school program to align itself with a host school’s mission for their students. Watoto - Swahili for the word “child,” is a different kind of aftercare program.
Part of the Watoto difference is our deep commitment to your child's educational future. Aftercare is our primary focus – not an add-on service to a daycare or preschool.
We are primarily staffed with aspiring teachers who have a true interest in nurturing each child's physical, social, emotional and intellectual development. We focus on homework help, themed enrichment and experience-based learning clubs. Students are given time each day to complete homework assignments and participate in theme-based activities that encourage community service, character growth and hands-on learning.
Our bi-annual showcase is presented at each host school at the end of each term and we share our learning with parents, friends and the greater school community. There is a gallery walk for students to display their works in addition to performances from our music, modeling and/or martial arts club members.
