About the Provider

Western St. Petersburg enjoys the vision of a father and son land development team that were credited with starting the Pinellas County land boom in the early 1900's. H. Walter Fuller and his son Walter P. Fuller gained fame and fortune as they were the first to envision turning what was then 133 acres of jungle area into the recreational destination we now call Walter Fuller Park.

What they did not know, is that over the years a unique chemistry would evolve as thousands of residents would have an award winning range of recreational activities to enjoy 365 days a year, right in their own neighborhood.

Walter Fuller Park has four major service venues. First, the Park has playgrounds, picnic pavilions, baseball, soccer and football fields, tennis and basketball courts, a community pool and a lake with a surrounding nature trail. Secondly, the park is host to two major events - The Green Thumb Festival and the Susan Korman 3 Day Cancer Walk. Thirdly, the Walter Fuller Recreation Center provides recreational classes, elementary and teen programs and leagues, indoor basketball, volleyball and pickleball courts and community rental rooms. Finally, the Park's ability to host quality family events makes it unique. Dog Shows and dog parks, birthday parties, nature walks, High School Cross Country meets and community picnics are some just to name a few. Walter Fuller Park has truly become a complete recreational destination.
