Trusting Hands Child Development Center is a center that specialize in infant care. We provide infant care from 6 and a half weeks to 2 years. We provide educational services starting as early as infancy. Our mission is to provide child care educational services that supports the growth and development of healthy minds at every developmental stage starting as early as infancy.

Trusting Hands Infant Care offer full day service in an environment that is nurturing, safe, and promote and caters to the unique qualities and needs of each infant. Our staff consists of caring and compassionate child care providers, who all together, with over 20 years of experience in early childhood education and infant care is dedicated to providing excellent care where safety is number one. Our small setting allows for the individualized care we provide.

The center sits on a quiet residential street in the District where metro transit, Rock Creek Park, and Silver Springs is accessible. Nestled on the hills of the gold coast the center is located inside the Washington Ethical Society, a landmark in Washington, DC. The structural dynamics of the building allows for natural inflow of bright light from the sunny and blue sky.

The enthusiasm and joy we bring to servicing infants in a safe and nurturing environment is a hallmark of Trusting Hands Child Development Center. Our goal is to provide a home away from home by extending individualized care to infants.

Type: Failure of a Facility that permits pets or animals at the Facility’s premises, to comply with the following requirements:</br>(a) A Licensee shall adhere to all local laws, regulations, and ordinances governing the keeping and maintenance of pets or animals;</br>(b) A Licensee shall maintain at the Facility premises proof of current compliance with all applicable registration and vaccination requirements for each pet or animal kept or maintained at the Facility;</br>(c) A Licensee shall advise the parent(s) or guardian(s) of prospective and enrolled children in writing of the presence of pets or animals;</br>(d) A Licensee shall ensure that all pets or animals permitted at the premises are in good health, show no evidence of carrying disease, are friendly toward children, and do not present a threat to the health, safety and welfare of children;</br>(e) A Licensee shall maintain all pets or animals in a visibly clean manner;</br>(f) A Licensee shall isolate any pet or animal showing evidence of disease, such as diarrhea, skin infection, severe loss of appetite, weight loss, lethargy, or any unusual behavior or symptoms. A Licensee shall ensure that any pet or animal suspected of being ill is promptly excluded from the presence of enrolled children and examined by a licensed veterinarian;</br>(g) A Licensee shall prohibit the presence of any pet or animal whose species is a common carrier of rabies, without specific proof that the pet or animal</br>has been vaccinated against that disease;</br>(h) All pet reptiles shall be kept inaccessible to children at all times;</br>(i) A Licensee shall ensure that no pet or animal, except a service animal accompanying the person for whom the animal provides assistance, litter box, or pet or animal pen or cage is permitted in any area where food is stored, prepared, or served; and</br>(j) If an animal bites a child and the child’s skin is broken, the Licensee shall immediately notify the child’s parent(s) or guardian(s) and OSSE, and shall report it as an unusual incident pursuant to this chapter.

Type: Failure of a Licensee to ensure that a Center Director shall be physically present at the Facility at all times during the Center’s peak hours of operation when the majority of children are present, and maintain on the premises a record of days and actual hours of work at the Facility, except that a Center Director may be absent from the Facility if he or she has designated an authorized representative of the Child Development Facility, who shall be physically present at the Facility when the Center Director is absent. This authorized representative must meet all the qualification requirements of a Center Director and who assumes full responsibility for the Facility’s management and operations in the absence of the Center Director.

Type: A prospective or current staff member shall be ineligible for employment with a Facility, if such individual:</br>(a) Refuses to consent to the criminal background check described in Subsection 132.2(a);</br>(b) Knowingly makes a materially false statement in connection with such criminal background check;</br>(c) Is registered, or is required to be registered, on a State sex offender registry or repository or the National Sex Offender Registry; </br>(d) Is registered, or is required to be registered, on a State child protection registry or repository; or</br>(e) Has been convicted of any of the following felonies:</br>(1) Murder, as described in Section 1111 of Title 18, United States Code;</br>(2) Child abuse or neglect;</br>(3) A crime against children, including child pornography;</br>(4) Spousal abuse;</br>(5) A crime involving rape or sexual assault;</br>(6) Kidnapping;</br>(7) Arson;</br>(8) Physical assault or battery; or</br>(9) Subject to Subsection 133.10, a drug-related offense committed during the preceding five (5) years; or</br>(f) Has been convicted of a violent misdemeanor committed as an adult against a child, including the following crimes: child abuse, child endangerment, sexual assault, or of a misdemeanor involving child pornography.
