About the Provider

Description:

We are conveniently located off 12th Ave in the D&B parking lot. My wife and I have committed to make this the premiere daycare in Southern Idaho. It is family owned and operated. We strive to create a comfortable, home-like environment for the children. We have an educational based program for children of all ages which includes developmental assessments and parent-teacher conferences for open lines of communication. We strive to make child care a personal experience with individualized care.

Home cooked meals and snacks served daily. Please refer to the Nutrition section for more details about what we offer.

All of our staff members are CPR, First-Aid certified and required to pass background checks. We strive to keep our ratios extremely low. Great references available on hand. Stop by or call anytime between 6am to 6pm.

Formal preschool classes are held Monday through Friday from 10:00 - 4:30. Curriculum is based on the Nampa school District standards to ensure a smooth transition to kindergarten both academically and socially. While we ensure the local school District standards are covered, we pride ourselves with incorporating much more! We have designed a program full of hands on activities for learning and personal development. Our curriculum is largely based on mathematics. To maximize learning, we utilize McGraw Hills preschool math curriculum and manipulatives to ensure a smooth transition to kindergarten and beyond. We emphasize math, reading, basic life skills and the overall development of independent learners.

For our younger learners (infant - 3 years of age): Please view the age appropriate page for your child to view the program they would be participating in. Our main goal is for the children in our care to have fun and interact with other children; all while developing essential skills and becoming independent learners.

Additional Information: Financial Assistance: Multi-child discount.

Children’s food was cold or not enough for them to have seconds - not enough toys in the classroom or broken toys. Teachers yelling at kids - over all not impressed with this preschool

I was a mom who only wanted a home daycare provider to watch my little boys. As my second son grew so did his love to get into things. It seemed like every day I would go to pick him up and he was in trouble for something. My husband found TLC and asked me to check it out. Reluctantly, I went and started to quiz the staff and program about if this was a good fit for us. After going and looking at the curriculum as well as structured day, I decided to give it a go. I couldn't believe the first day let alone the first week reports of how smart and engaged my son was acting at school. To my surprise this wasn't the honeymoon period. His success continued and I saw a difference with him at home as well. TLC was just what he needed. Two years later, I had my little girl and I had no reservations about taking her at 7 weeks old when I had to return back to teaching. She is moving into the 3 year old class and seems very well prepared. I know TLC takes great care of my children since I have to work and I highly recommend anyone else who asks me about child care especially if they are all about home daycare providers like I was. TLC has given not only my children safety, security, and a great education, they have schooled me in them as well. THANKS TLC for loving my babies!!!!

TLC for tots.... but what about the employees?

The following situations and circumstances are my
personal experiences working at the "Daycare/Preschool"
TLC for tots

The first thing that caught my eye was there method of
cooling the childrens breakfast sippy cups. milk was
put into the cups, the cups were put into a bin and
then set outside on the left side of david fetezers
truck to "chill" Would you set your childs sippy cup outside and then
let them drink out it?

the second incident occurred December 27, a child was being
bullied by another to the point that I had to fill out an accident
report for a little girl that had been pushed down by a classmate
I go into david F office to have him sign off on the incident report.
I asked david how I should go about telling the parent
that their child was injured, because of privacy laws
when telling a parent about accidents we cannot give names
of other children. but david had a whole new approach of the
situation. He continued to persuading me to change the
report and told me to tell the parents if they asked
that she had fell when that was clearly not the case.

The third and final incident occurred on January 17th
I arrived for my 9 o clock shift at 8:50 washed my hands
and clocked in. Everything was running as normal. things seemed
rushed and tense. I helped wash the hands of the children all
ages not just my classroom which was 8 children all
within the ages of 12 to 24 months and let me remind you
Im getting paid minimum wage. After doing all the hand washing
I head into the lunchroom and supervise the eight toddlers that
are sitting at tables not in high chairs which is hard to do cause
toddlers dont usally sit still and they can easily choke and fall out
of the chair and get hurt. Im watching the kids when Im am startled
by the loud and aggressive voice of David F saying "Can you do anything
but stand there?!" he shouts into the room making uncomfortable eye
contact with me then turns around taking about three steps out of the
lunchroom, I started to head to the lunchroom a foot or two behind him
as He starts using foul language saying "Thats f...ing bullshit" in regular
tone of voice, just feet away from the kids, he definitely heard by some of
the kids and staff members. I was so shocked embarrassed and hurt
I left the room in tears. I made a call to help decide on what to do
with the current situation, I decided to work for the rest of the day.
At the end of the day I went to clock out and my time card had been
tampered with my actual clock in time was crossed out with permanent
marker and written below it was 9:40 am, when I had clearly gotten there
at 8:50 and had been working.

This had happened at 9:30 am, at  around 4:00 pm he called me over to where
he was standing and told me that he was having a "private" conversation with
his wife. I informed him that private conversations were held in  private places
meaning no other being should be able to hear him. and then he had the nerve to
tell me I was ease dropping!

If you really want to know the ins and outs of any company, talk to an employee
of the company they will tell you everything, even things you might not want to
know

Our son was at TLC for Tots for two months when we gave them our 30 day notice to withdraw from the daycare. There were many many things that bothered us when we used their services. Our son would get diaper rashes, yet they still refused to use the diaper rash cream we provided. They began feeding him solid foods without getting our permission first. When we asked them about this, the director said we talked about it together and agreed to feed him solids. She was obviously getting us confused with someone else. Our son was also given other children's pacifiers on multiple occasions.

One week I was given our bill and was told "Monday is the 20th". The 20th of each month was when the bill was due. I did not have a check on me that Thursday so I sent it Monday with my husband. We were given a $45 late fee because Monday was actually the 21st. When my husband talked to the director, she lied to him and said we had a very specific conversation and that she told me to pay it by Friday or we would get a late fee. When I asked her about this, she denied it. They refused to show any leniency and charged us the late fee. The director was extremely rude after that and we caught her lying to us on at least one other occassion.

We later found a review online listing some serious concerns posted by someone who was looking at the daycare for themselves. We were especially horirifed to read a review that mentioned a very young baby who had an eye infection that was not being cared for. The review stated the baby had an eye that was almost completely crusted shut. That was the same day our son had an eye infection. Needless to say we were reading about the neglect of our own son. That was the deciding factor in leaving.

Since we have been at out new daycare our son is so much happier. We are told everyday that he is such a good baby and so happy. When he was at TLC we were told everyday that he was fussy. He would fall asleep everyday on the way home and would stay asleep for hours sometimes. Almost everyday when I arrived to pick him up he would be out in the main room with all of the other kids with the radio or TV extremely loud and kids running around screaming. He was out there even when he was asleep, rather than in the "nap room". He would only sleep about 20 minutes at a time and was extremely fussy. At the new daycare he takes two naps at two hours each and he has been on this schedule every since. I think him being a much happier baby obviously speaks for itself.
