Going back to work after having a baby is difficult. Parenting instincts to protect and nurture are strong. We understand that for many of you that is a difficult choice to make. Leaving your child in the care of someone else brings about a whole new set of concerns about which to worry.
We offer families an environment, for children, that is warm and inviting. A third option to child care, that's different from the large commercial centers. Parents can feel at ease with leaving their child in our care because we are trained professionals, experienced, and highly qualified. We're also small in numbers for a more personal connection with each child. This helps parents to feel more comfortable and not over-whelmed at the number of children at the facility or concerned about the quality of care their child may receive.
The Wonder Playschool is an infant and toddler center serving ages six weeks to two and one-half years of age. Our center is a small, more intimate setting, promoting a closer relationship between families and our teachers. Our environment consists of just two infant rooms and a toddler room. We furnish them with high quality manipulatives and brand recognized furniture. Our teacher to child ratio is low allowing us to bond, nurture, and challenge your child through meaningful connections. We keep changes and transitions to a minimum so that your child remains with the same teachers for a longer period of time . We engage children through daily routines and life experiences. We find those everyday routines and experiences are new and meaningful to young children. We partner with the children providing purposeful play facilitated by intentional teaching. Our use of encouragement, challenges, and curiosity as tools helps to build on the emerging sense of self. Our daily hands on experiences give children the opportunity to explore ideas and problem solve. We strive to teach concepts through wondering, exploration, and the excitement of discovery.

Infant Classrooms:
For all personal care, we follow your lead based on your routines and encourage napping based on your time-table and then mimic those same soothing techniques. When you drop off your child, we have a brief interface where we discuss any needed changes for that day. All this helps to ensure that your child transitions, from your home to us and then back again.
Our care supplies include Pamper diapers, wipes, ointment, and we offer organic stage food. We include all in the price of tuition. We understand the morning routine of being a parent and we work to make it easier for you to meet your day.
Our classroom is beautifully designed and developmentally appropriate for infants from six weeks to 24 months of age. It's a shoe free zone given that many of the children do their exploring on the floor. The classroom is neutral in colors to help prevent over stimulation. The classroom is warm and inviting, full of interest and wonder, designed to make children feel comfortable and excited to explore.
Toddler Classroom:
Our toddler room is set up so children can indulge the emerging, independent drive to explore the world around them. We encourage them to wonder and be curious, and to act on their impulses in socially acceptable ways. The primary tools that we use is verbal language and redirection. We talk about feelings and help them express what they feel through language. We encourage them to use spoken communication and expressions to communicate their feelings, boundaries, and desires. Part of that process involves providing emotional support and helping them plan other alternative outcomes. We also change up the environment to help them overcome reoccurring impulses. The goal is to allow your child to express themselves in socially acceptable ways to achieve their desired effect.
We designed our curriculum so that children's skills build on previous successes. With the primary goal to support that growth, and to enable children to develop new skills and tools. Each of our project based activities revolves around the interest of the children and rooted in wonder and curiosity. Children learn faster when we piqued their interest through questions and experimentation. Each lesson begins with the basic structure of the goal. We then build upon that lesson as your child grasps concepts or exhibits growth. We focus learning on "projects." We design each project to exploit the curiosity that children have. Beyond education, projects help to reinforce collaboration between friends. Our over all approach come from experts in the field of child development. Our projects are not single day events but multi weeks or month adventures. We focus on a project that has the potential to evolve into something deeper through the curiosity and wonder of children. This allows each child to grow at their own pace. Part of that process is to allow them to feel that they have accomplished something. We follow that growth with a period of reflection where we reinforce the lessons learned during the project by celebrating its success.
