Findings: There is a sign in/sign out book in the front of the school for before and after care. Parents/guardians are supposed to sign children in and out. When Licensing Specialist arrived today, there were 6 children present with the before care teacher, but only 2 of the children were signed in. Attendance of all children in the before and after care program is required to be taken every day. Licensing Specialist discussed this with the before care teacher and Head of School and it was decided that the attendance book would be taken into the classroom with the before care teacher in the morning and she will keep attendance as each child arrives. It was also decided that the afternoon Primary after care teacher would take the attendance book into her classroom to make sure attendance is accurate and to ensure the whereabouts of the children transitioning into the after care program from the elementary school. Please make sure this process (or another similar process) is followed so attendance is noted daily, is accurate and the whereabouts of all children in care are known.
