I have used this provider for more than 6 months

This company is under new ownership and now doing business as Carter's Webb Learning Center.

Sharing my experience so that other parents don't make the same mistake that I did.

The center will not offer toileting assistance to children who ask for help other than providing them with their spare clothing and offering wipes for the child to clean themselves up. I called the state about my concerns last week and they visited the center and found that the center was not out of compliance, however; Directors were very rude to me during a meeting regarding the care of my child. Told me I was upset because I wasn't getting what I wanted. When asked where in their handbook to find the section on the care they did and did not provide the director told me "You can read, find it yourself. You signed that you read and understood the information." When asked at what age children are expected to be able to wipe and clean up themselves "three" was the answer provided by the director.

My child is school age and attends this center for aftercare and school closings and while I don't expect a staff member to accompany him to the restroom, I would expect that if he asked for assistance that he would be helped. I don't feel that including this in an IEP is appropriate (the center requested this in order to provide him with help if he asked for it) as this is not a disability but a skill that has not been fully developed. The center did offer to call me if my child requested assistance in the bathroom so that I could leave work and come to the center to assist him. Very disappointed and care of my child will not be entrusted to this center. Very unprofessional. These ladies have a lot to learn if they are going to be successful in the childcare business. When I told them I would be posting this to social media they asked me to make sure to include all of the details. I hope this satisfies their request.
