Description: Our Montessori program for the Primary level is designed to meet the needs of the child from three to six years of age. This is the stage which Dr. Montessori classified as the “Absorbent Mind.” During these years, the child’s mind is like a sponge - constantly absorbing impressions from the environment. The environment, therefore, must offer many opportunities to foster learning, clarify impressions, and build good habits and attitudes. The environment must also offer a variety of experiences based on reality.
The task of the teacher is to meticulously prepare this environment in order to stimulate the interest of the child. The environment consists of five major areas of activities: practical life, sensorial, language, mathematics, and cultural subjects. Other areas such as music, art, and physical education are integrated throughout these five major areas and are included in the Primary program. During the third year of the Primary program, children also receive Spanish lessons twice per week.
Where possible, ChildcareCenter provides inspection reports as a service to families. This information is deemed reliable, but is not guaranteed. We encourage families to contact the daycare provider directly with any questions or concerns, as the provider may have already addressed some or all issues. Reports can also be verified with your local daycare licensing office.
