The program director, C.L., reported through its internal investigation that staff member A.G. used negative and inappropriate language toward children in the classroom, including referring to a child as a “stupid boy.” This is consistent with the parent’s report that their three-year-old stated his teacher used the term “stupid” toward him and other children. The use of derogatory or negative statements toward children does not comply with the requirement that caregivers communicate using positive statements.
