About the Provider

The S.U.N.S.H.I.N.E. Learning Station (SLS), the flagship program of ECEF is a state licensed, after-school, academically oriented enrichment and reinforcement program for children in grades K-5. Its mission is spelled out in its name: a School for Unusual Needs Students, offering a Healthy, Individualized, and Nurturing Education. The SLS specializes in serving students who need to improve study skills, need extra personal attention or additional academic help, including students who are both below and above their academic grade level. All students need special attention not currently available in the local elementary schools. The SLS maintains a student/teacher ratio of 6:1. The program’s goal is that, by the time the students move up to the Middle School, they will be working at grade level in math, reading, and writing.
