My 3 y/o son has been going to this day care for about 3 months. Since he started the staff have sent home daily complaints that my son is “saying no, making pottie noises, and disruptive during circle time”. Today we were told it was his last day and that he could not return. I called the manager to discuss my concerns. She reiterated that he was being kicked out due to the previously mentioned concerns. Not once have they had a formal conversation with us or given us written notice that he will be kicked out. I noted during this conversation that just last week staff had told us that another child misbehaved at their day care, and they told us the child came back the next day with a red butt. We were caught off guard and felt that this day care was encouraging corporal punishment to “improve behavior” and that we too should do this. When I brought this up to the manager, she declined any of these statements (as if we made this up). She stated that when they bring up concerns to other parents the kids come back and no longer have the undesired behavior and that “they have never had a child like mine and that he is not improving, and this is why he is being kicked out”. Never once have I had a day care kick one of my children out nor have they ever complained about the things we have been told on a daily basis from this day care. My experience with my child’s previous day care was a collaborative approach to working with my child and helping him navigate through his emotions and behaviors in a positive manner. This day care does not work with your child or the parents. I believe they encourage parents to use corporal punishment and if the child does not improve in the time frame they have determined they will be kicked out abruptly.
My child went there for year, until they started school. The baby room was great. They take really good care of the babies. My one year old learn a lot of his ABC’s and to count. He also leaned his colors. The 2 year room potty trained my child and learned a lot. The 3&4 class was wonderful from the learning, to the arts and crafts, and the field trips. Never had a problem at all there. I feel my child was loved by all his teachers .
TERRIBLE> And I'm not just saying this because I dislike the place. The women that "care" for your children DO NOT CARE. You are never greeted when entering in the morning. There is a young blonde with the older children who is always on her phone (we see it between your legs as if it is out of sight...)The baby room is horrible, the women yell at the babies and tell them to shut up. The 1 year old room babies sit in a table all day, have no curriculum unless you count flash cards a curriculum. Theyre made to watch tv all day, given their sippy cups only twice a day excluding breakfast. an older woman in the 4 year old class has been reported several times to the director for hitting children in her class and the director has done nothing about this. Theyre is abuse kin this daycare, mental, emotional, and physical and DSS doesn't seem to care. The daycare has cameras but doesn't use them so of course you wouldn't be able to see how your child hit his head or anything. They are ALWAYS out of ratio. ALWAYS
