Noncompliance Area: There was a door to the building utility system (heating) with out a lock or closure that facility children could access. The area was where facility children placed their school bags.

Correction Required: Floors, walls, ceilings and other surfaces, including the facility's outdoor play space surfaces shall be kept clean, in good repair and free from visible hazards.

Noncompliance Area: During the facility renewal inspection, there were no signs at sinks used by facility children indicating when hand must be washed.

Correction Required: A facility person and an able child shall wash his hands after toileting and before eating. A sign on which this requirement is written shall be posted at each toilet, training chair, diapering area and sink in the facility.

Noncompliance Area: Facility children's potentially hazardous food was not kept in the refrigerator. At the time of inspection, the facility refrigerator did not have an operating thermometer.

Correction Required: A facility shall have an operable, clean refrigerator used to store potentially hazardous foods. The refrigerator shall be capable of maintaining food at 45° F or below. An operating thermometer shall be placed in the refrigerator. Potentially hazardous food brought from the child's home or provided by the facility shall be refrigerated.

Noncompliance Area: There was no written plan for emergency accommodations at the time of inspection.

Correction Required: The facility shall have an emergency plan that provides for accommodations for infants, toddlers, children with disabilities, and children with chronic medical conditions. The operator shall assure that each facility person receives training regarding the emergency plan at the time of initial employment, on an annual basis and at the time of each plan update. The operator shall document the date of each training and the names of all facility persons who received the training and kept on file at the facility.

Correction Required: Staff persons shall participate, at least annually, in firesafety training conducted by a fire protection professional. Staff persons and volunteers shall receive training in maintenance of smoke detectors, the duties of facility persons during a fire drill and during a fire and the use of the facility's fire extinguishers, not including discharge of the fire suppressant agent.
