About the Provider

Spring Valley opened on January 5, 2009. The $15 million school was constructed with funds from a 2003 bond to relieve overcrowding at neighboring schools in southeastern Durham County. The school serves around 600 students. Spring Valley is located in a beautiful rural setting off Sherron Road on the Northern Durham Parkway, near the Brightleaf at the Park subdivision. Barbara Parker, a longtime Durham educator, was named principal of Spring Valley Elementary School in 2010.
