Description: Special CARE, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that provides services for children with and without special needs while promoting acceptance and the belief that children are children first. Funding is received through the United Way, various foundation grants, reimbursement programs, corporations, and individual contributions.
Special CARE is licensed to serve more than 200 children between the ages of 6 weeks to 21 years. Two thirds of the children enrolled at Special Care have special needs. Some of the physical and multi-disabling challenges our students face are Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, Autism, and many other disabilities.
The Special CARE program is available Monday through Friday from 7am to 6pm. In addition, before and after-school programs are available for school-age children; summer and holiday programs are also available. Inclusive classrooms and on-site therapy services offer opportunities for children of all abilities to reach their full potential. Families thrive too because of the support and community they experience at Special Care.
Where possible, ChildcareCenter provides inspection reports as a service to families. This information is deemed reliable, but is not guaranteed. We encourage families to contact the daycare provider directly with any questions or concerns, as the provider may have already addressed some or all issues. Reports can also be verified with your local daycare licensing office.

Plan: The program states they will make sure to have the therapists work with their children outside of the classrooms, she will have to double check for the children who have therapy through-out the day, if they are able to work with their children outside of the classrooms but they will ensure this is implemented. She stated the program will ensure when the children are going to the bathroom they will also be supervised considering this incident seemed to have occurred in the bathroom. She stated we have been working here a long time and we can get complacent, so the program is going to work on this with staff, a refresher course. |

Plan: The program serves infants through kindergarten students in childcare classrooms that are separate from first grade through high school students in designated school-age classrooms. School-age students who are eighteen or older are supported in the wing of the building (added 2014) separate from all childcare classrooms. The interaction of school-age students eighteen or older with childcare students is limited to actively supervised, inclusive, schoolwide activities that use strategic grouping to ensure safety of all students. At drop off and pick up, while families supervise their own children, school-age students may pass childcare students in shared hallways. |
| Description: Issuance- The program is caring for individuals that are 18 years of age and older. | ||
