About the Provider

The Sonshine Patch Preschool in Montrose, Colorado began its ministry in 1986. We are located on the campus of the First Presbyterian Church.

Our goal is to provide opportunities for intellectual, physical, social, and spiritual growth within an atmosphere of Christian love. We accept all children for the special, wonderful individual he or she is and strive to create a preschool experience that develops the childs self-esteem and enhances learning.

Our program has a mix of small group and large group time where children have opportunities to learn through hands on experiences. "Play" allows the child to make his or her own choices and to practice new skills in a purposeful way. It allows children to interact with one another thus providing an arena in which to acquire such social skills as cooperation, how to express ones needs, and to respect the needs of others. With the help of the teacher, children learn to talk with one another in order to solve interpersonal conflicts.
