Our mission is to provide worry-free childcare in a clean, safe, happy, loving, healthy environment that fosters educational and spiritual learning. Son-Shine Educational Center (Son-Shine) is a ministry of the First Apostolic Church of Toledo, Ohio. This Center is a non-profit organization, open to the public. Son-Shine is a member of Step up to Quality for Education and is a step one center, receiving one star. As a Christian based center we follow Biblical principles to create a healthy, happy, safe environment in order to foster a caring community of learners. At Son-Shine our teachers and staff are guided by the idea of developmental appropriate practices, where every child is believed to have the ability to learn and grow at his or her own pace. We believe that each child is a unique individual and as such we strive to meet each child's needs. Son-Shine focuses on developing the whole child; we focus on cognitive, social, linguistic, emotional, physical and character development, as well as modeling and instilling moral and spiritual values during planned lessons as well as capitalizing on teachable moments. At Son-Shine we believe that parents are the first and most important teachers in children's lives. We welcome parent involvement at any time and strive to provide the second best teaching experience for their children.
