Description: The Silver Spring Learning Center (SSLC) has instituted the highest standards since its establishment in 1971. Your child will thrive in our congenial, warm atmosphere where he or she will be creatively stimulated, not only socially, but academically as well. We have found that children learn through play. Our teachers provide a non-pressured, "game-like" environment for learning language arts, modern math concepts, handwriting readiness, science and social studies principles, as well as creative expression through art, dramatics, music, and dance. We feel our program gives your child the best start in their school life.
Where possible, ChildcareCenter provides inspection reports as a service to families. This information is deemed reliable, but is not guaranteed. We encourage families to contact the daycare provider directly with any questions or concerns, as the provider may have already addressed some or all issues. Reports can also be verified with your local daycare licensing office.

Findings: OCC received two emails on March 28, from March 26 and March 28, stating that the two-year-old classroom only had one staff member. The email from March 28 stated the staff was not the main staff teacher. During the complaint inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed each classroom, attendance, and staff sign-in and out sheet. The sign-in and out sheet was incomplete. The director and the owner assured the Licensing Specialist that they are always in compliance with staff and child ratios. This regulation is in non-compliance because the Licensing Specialist observed a newly hired staff member, not allowed in the classrooms, but is present in the child care lobby area. The facility didn't notify the office about a criminal background clearance. In addition, during the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed two unknown individuals entering the childcare area. The facility is reminded that the entrance door from the synagogue needs to remain closed to prevent members of the synagogue access to the childcare area. | |||
