Description: Families are invited to apply for RUSD’s free Head Start and State Preschool programs, which are offered at several school sites throughout the district.
Most programs are half-day, with a full day program available to some families at the Grant Education Center in downtown Riverside. RUSD’s pre-school programs are available to families who meet state and federal income guidelines. Applications are available at all RUSD elementary schools or the RUSD Early Childhood Education Office, 7675 Magnolia Avenue (off of Jefferson behind Ramona High School’s main campus).
The office is open from 7:30 AM to 4 PM Monday-Friday. RUSD’s preschool programs prepare children for success in school by helping them to learn through meaningful hands-on experiences, exploration, critical thinking and problem solving activities. Students also receive medical and dental resources, breakfast, hot lunches and nutritious snacks.
