Description: Riverview High is a four-year, (grades 9-12) comprehensive high school located on 51 acres in Sarasota, Florida. The present population of this Gulf-Coast area located south of Tampa is approximately 372,000. The current school population is 2638 students. Graduates of 2011 number 577: Of those continuing their education 55 % went to 4 year universities, 2 % went to community college and 2% went to technical schools. 1% of the graduating class went into the armed services. Riverview High School was established in 1958 and was an open campus designed by Paul Rudolph in 1958 (468,000 sq. ft.). The new Riverview High School campus (532,000 sq. ft.) is a more traditional design centered around an expansive interior courtyard, hosting state of the art technology in all 7 Small Learning Community classrooms, 2nd largest auditorium in the city, and all capturing the beauty of the river that brought us our name. There are 133 classroom teachers, 6 school counselors and 6 administrators.
