I have used this provider for more than 6 months

DO NOT SEND YOUR PRECIOUS CHILDREN HERE! Especially if you're a member of the LGBTQ community. My wife got a voicemail message from the Director, Kimesha Munford early in the morning on Thursday 2/2/23. She was saying how she's a prophet and got a message through a dream or vision to tell us we must split up. She was speaking in tongues and everything . Nothing against religious folks but if u have no self control or professionalism not to call us at 3:30AM and again at 4:30AM with this bullsh*t then we don't know what you're capable of doing with our child in your care.

Turns out she contacted all of the LGBTQ parents and even employees with the same or similar messages from God. Then sent my wife a text with the address to Reid Temple AME church and what time to be there. She knew which mom not to call I can tell u that much! We are so blown away bc we never had any signs of any of this in the past. We are also pretty pissed bc our little girl really liked the center and has friends there. She's been going since she was 8 months old (now 3 years old). This is so beyond unfortunate. But also grateful that she didn't hold this in and do something crazy to our child.

My wife contacted the owner (the director's mother) and apparently she's a prophet too so she didn't really seem to givadamn but kinda alluded to this woman having some mental health issues - uhhh ya think. And said she will tell her not to do it again. Oh pa'leeze!! She definitely should not be around any children with this type of mentality. This was clear religious discrimination and LGBTQ discrimination. In more than 2 years there, we never even had as much as a "have a blessed day" so all of this came out of nowhere. Plus when we initially interviewed them, she told us we were more than welcome there.

We never took our sweet baby back there again! They need to be shut down!!

We received an apology email from Kimesha Munford (with her mother cc'd) basically saying the enemy (I guess the devil) made her do it. The last part of the email was even more disturbing because she said "P.S. I am grieved concerning the things I've said and would NEVER fathom taking your child away from her family". WTF?!! Nuts!!

I'm telling you...don't do it. Even if you are not a member of the LGBTQ community, why would you want your child around someone with such strong beliefs against anyone and with something having so much control over her, that she would contact people in the middle of the night?! She even mentioned having to wake up her own teen daughter who is apparently a lesbian, to tell her that she needed to break up with her gf as well. That poor child was probably scared out of her mind!

They have two locations for Rising Generations - we used to be enrolled at the Lanham location on Forbes. DON'T DO IT!

I have used this provider for less than 6 months

This is a bit long so sorry in advance: My son was terminated because he was having some behavior issues. I understood that this is a Zero Tolerance school. But was told all efforts would be made to avoid termination. When my son would get in trouble, when we talk to his teacher she would act if it wasn’t that bad or things were said like “he not the only one” or “you know how kids can be sometimes” but then he would get written up by the administrator, Mrs Cherise. And upon speaking with her my son’s behavior was much worst. So the communication there was bad. As a parent I refuse to say my child is perfect but for Mrs Cherise to tell me it’s Zero Tolerance policy and then for your teachers to not uphold that policy was confusing and frustrating. Sometimes when i would pick up my child and children were in the class throwing things, screaming hitting, some of the same things my son was accused of but we were told since it wasn’t during “instruction time” it wasn’t as disruptive.....so i guess the rules only apply during certain times. Really? Mrs Cherise is unprofessional and has poor communication skills. She would have a snarky tone and never had anything positive to say about my child. The only teachers that assured me that my son although may act out from time to time, it’s fine cause he is trying to adjust were miss Porsche and The afternoon teacher Mrs Kris. They were the only two who seemed to really understand and care about making sure we make the behavior better and all Mrs Cherise was concerned about was writing him up. His main teacher Miss Jermeka was a young lady who you can tell was overwhelmed and not trained. I’m not even upset at the termination, I wasn’t looking to change the policies for my child, but I find it disappointing that after a conference with administrator(which the teacher did not attend by the way) we spoke about different techniques to help my child’s behavior, none of that was tried. My husband and I did many things to talk to our son and discipline him. We expressed the willingness to do whatever it took as a team with the staff and they expressed the same. They could have even suggested programs since they saw the behavior and maybe theirs wasn’t the fit for him. They just didn’t want deal with him he had only been in the school 2 months. To see a team of “educators” just write off a 3 year old cause he is having a little trouble instead of trying to nurture him and help work together for his good is sad. My son is stubborn at times but he isn’t just a horrible child. The afternoon teacher even told me that. All that on their website about “working together for the kids” is a lie. They need to train their teachers, Mrs Cherise need to work on her professionalism.
