Please feel free to share if this would upset you. September 17, 2019 Declan was at daycare. RAISING STARS LEARNING CENTER IN RINCON. His father picked him up around noon that day. He informed me that our son had a busted lip. And the daycare gave him an incident report. I was upset because no one called us, or sent a message over the Kinderlime app, that he fell and busted his lip. However, they did have the time to send us a message informing us he would need diapers soon. I understand accidents happen. I want to be told when my child has an injury, for example a busted lip, so I can decide if I want to go get him, and treat him at home. By all means, I was very frustrated and felt I needed to let them know that I did not think this was acceptable. I sent them the following. “I appreciate that you can send the message about the diapers but is it too difficult to send a message and say my son busted his lip? Accidentally or not I would appreciate some sort of notification.” The response infuriated me, mainly because it did not come from the teacher, or the director, but from the OWNER of the daycare. I immediately knew if this is the way the owner handles a parents concern/complaint then things will only get worse from here. I truly fear for my child’s safety. The owners response was “If you not happy you can take him out. “ That was his last day. And I feel like I need to warn everyone, I was very impressed with the daycare when things were going well.. but their true colors came to light when things were not good. Do not be fooled. They don’t care and that culture comes from the top.
