Our daughter has been going to Paula's since she was three months old. Exceptional daycare and she is thriving under her care. Began crawling earlier than average and has been attempting to walk and talk before 9 months! Paula is so sweet with the children and communicates achievements and anything of note quickly and enthusiastically. Would recommend Paula to anyone looking for care that is more like an extension of family than a clinical large center.
While her actual interactions with children are generally appropriate, this provider has been extremely difficult to work with, and has prompted us to forgo all in home daycare in the future.
For day to day care, as full-time working parents, we needed reliable care for our two children. From the beginning, we found this provider to need an inordinate amount of time off. For a period of over two months, there was at least a day off or early closure nearly every week. We understand that things happen, but this quickly became problematic at both of our places of employment. Early on in our tenure with Paula, she was (and I believe still is) under investigation for violations of her licensure. Also, she calls with alarming frequency claiming our children are ill or exhibiting symptoms that were not substantiated by the many physician visits we had to endure as a result of her calls.
When we interviewed this provider prior to using her, we agreed upon a reduced rate over the summer (I am a teacher, and do not require full time care during the summer months). We agreed to part-time care for our youngest, and I even offered to send my oldest for some of the summer, even though she was of preschool age. Paula waited until we had paid for both of her summer weeks' vacation, and unceremoniously gave notice of termination of our youngest from her care in favor of another full time child, only three weeks from school beginning. While she cited our "part time status" as her reasoning, this was a known situation for the summer; additionally, nearly all of her clients are part-time. We were blindsided with no care and very short notice, for no valid reason. I'd strongly recommend against this provider if you need reliable and trustworthy care of your children.
