I have been using this daycare for almost 7 years. Both of my daughters have gone to Diane since they were 6 weeks old. We all adore Diane and I can't say enough nice things about her. She is so caring, treats our kids like her own and is so great with the kids. My girls have always loved going to her house. Sometimes they don't want to leave. My oldest is in school now but misses going to Diane's. She doesn't just watch kids, she's a "teacher", "nurse", "hairdresser", "counselor", etc. Because she has watched so many kids over the years she always has good advice. She teaches kindness, acceptance, and independence.
I grew up with Diane's daughter and as soon as I had my first child, I knew I wanted to take her to Diane. She is an excellent lady and loves children. I read the other reviews and totally disagree. She is very attentive, she teaches the kids so much, she does preschool and they always have fun. My daughter gets sad when it's not a daycare day. She is LDS and shares views with the kids and they pray at meal time. But she is not pushy and is respectful of others beliefs. She does allow kids to come when they have colds, because we all have to work and if we always stayed home with sick kids we would never work and would no longer have jobs. If they have fevers or throwing up or worse, she'll ask that you leave them home. I appreciate everything she does!
I have been calling daycares to shop around & find out which facility is the best fit for my infant. When I called Diane, she was very rude & not helpful at all. I told her I was shopping around & didn't know an exact start date since I was still looking for work. Her response was "well it's kinda hard to schedule something when you don't know what you're doing" in a very rude way. So fortunately, I will be taking my business elsewhere.
Everything the first reviewer said is right on, so I won't repeat it. I will say my little girl would probably safer (not to mention happier) if I picked someone at random in the park to watch her. The woman running it seems to be a very nice person, but--and this is my only my opinion--but I do suspect she suffers from some sort of mental illness. Said illness, or the medication for it, would explain the good intentions coupled with complete incompetence. Standing there while she talks to you with those glassy eyes and dull smile completely oblivious to kids screaming and crying behind her is an example of the one redeeming quality of this so-called daycare: the woman is also incompetent at hiding the living nightmare you're expected to leave your child in, so any parents with a bit of sense will have their son or daughter out of there before they are too traumatized. I do wish the woman who runs it well, but she really does need to find a new line of work.
This "daycare" is a complete joke. It is a home, which is fine, but it doesn't look like a daycare. There is nothing for the kids to do. The lady thinks it is acceptable to push her LDS beliefs on all who go there, which is so unprofessional. She hardly watches the kids from what I saw. She asks a lot of personal questions that are irrelevant to anything and just none of anyone's business. Apparently having sick, biting kids are ok in this daycare. So, if u don't mind ur kid being bitten, getting a cold, and who knows what else, send ur kids there. Oh, and being watched is an option, so keep that in mind. Also, don't really count on this daycare, as it may go ahead and cancel the NIGHT before u are expected to be at ur new job. This "daycare" is a nightmare and it's hard to beleive it's licensed.
