My kids spent their early years with Bernie and Linda Carlson. My daughter, now an adult, and I are planning a move back to CA and are hoping that her new baby will be able to experience the joy of the Carlson family. Never in a million years would I have trusted my kids to a home daycare until I met the Carlson. My kids earliest memories are of Bernie's fairy finger and sleepovers, decorating the haunted house for Halloween, and tide pools at Pt. Mugu.
A very dear part of my kids childhood and I hope, my grandson's, too.
I, personally, was a kid that attended this great family ran day care for more than 10 years while my mom and step dad worked constantly. They've even took me and my sister on the weekends so my parents could work. Bernie usually took us to the park, beach, sand dunes, and even gave us some great pointers in basketball which I used constantly while on my varsity high school basketball team. Linda was awesome! She was always there for us when we needed her. She taught us what it meant to be caring, compassionate and to share empathy with others. Bernie helped me realize that being a "man" isn't about portraying something you're not in order to get girls and popularity, but that it's about doing what needs to be done. To push through every obstacle in the way. I've learned a lot of amazing life ideas and have seized every opportunity presented to me all because these two wonderful people helped me become the person I am today. Who am I today? I'm a business owner. A family man. A married one at that. Thank you both for everything.
I took my 2 girls to open arms for many years, for many years; now they are 17 and 19 years old and they have all good memories about this place. Linda had many fun activities for the kinds. We just visited Linda a few months ago and she still has pictures of my girls and all the kids. Linda gave my girls so much love that even to know they speak very highly of her and want to see her. I highly recommend Open Aarms Daycare!
They are over priced. They constantly are asking for money. They come up with fake reasons to send your child home. The head teacher Linda doesn't leave the couch ever only when you first sign up. They said Linda came from Montessori. If so where are the perks? Promised to potty train, do projects daily. All lies. I would never recommend Open Arms Daycare to eveny worst enemy.
