Description: Our center's philosophy is considered "Developmental." We feel positive self esteem is the most important asset that a child can have growing up. The major goal in this program is for the children to have positive experiences in which they can feel good about themselves. We want to encourage each child's development of self discipline and help them learn healthy patterns of interaction with others. We believe that through play and social activities such as games, crafts, discussion groups, etc., we can provide children with the opportunities to develop socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually. Most of all we provide a warm, safe, and accepting atmosphere where children thrive.

Our daughter has been at Oak St. for 2 years, since she was an infant, and she loves is there. The staff are caring and patient with the children and the variety of activities is wonderful. They do swim lessons in the summer, have musical guests come in weekly, visit a local play-gym for gymnastics and take walks to the local parks. I love that she gets a healthy lunch and snack everyday and that she comes home telling us about her fun day full of activities.
My 5 year old daughter is graduating from Oak Street Child Development. She has had a great time there and enjoys it very much. I have been very pleased with the staff and their dedication to the kids. She has learned a great deal and will be ready for kindergarten. The location is also a plus as it is right downtown. I now have another child in the infant room and I most certainly plan to continue at Oak Street. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a caring place for his or her child.
Oak Street is a wonderful child care facility! The staff is great and I adore watching my daughter learn, play and make friends. We have been at Oak Street since my daughter was 5 months old and she is now in the toddler room. I am so grateful for the care and instruction they provide. Each day she comes home with new words, new songs and new games. She loves the large outdoor play area. And I love the great downtown location.
Oak Street has long-term teachers who are dedicated to child care. My son has benefited so much from Oak Street. So have I. My son tells me that he loves his school, where he reads, sings, plays all kinds of activities, and goes outside to nearby places. I have a peace of mind while at work, knowing that my son is being taken good care of and is learning a lot every day.
