This daycare has permanently closed as of 18 August 2023. My child attended since they were an infant and I never had any problems with the amazing teachers or staff. The owners, however, are another story. I am writing this review to warn other parents in case she re-opens this business in the future. The owners notified employees and parents of the closing of the school in April, after deposits had already been taken from the parents to commit to the next school year. This deposit was refunded. The owners then incentivized the care providers to stay until the end of the school year by offering them each a $2k bonus. This money was due on their last paycheck, but was not. When contacted, the owners either ignored contact from the caregivers or stated that they were no longer eligible due to “erratic attendance.” As a parent, I can vouch that all of the care givers were such hard workers that took excellent care of our children until the end. There was only one day there wasn’t enough teacher coverage that they could not open, and it sounded like a management issue rather than “erratic attendance.” This is straight up wage theft and the owners should not be able to re-open if this is where their morales are.
I don't have enough good things to say about Nurturing Nest. We have attended the "watch me grow" class and started the three 1/2 day 2y/o pre-primary class but had to withdraw early (with a newborn in tow, it was too much for our family at the time). Miriam is excellent- the materials placed in the classroom are well thought out for the class as a whole as well as for each individual child (noticing details about what materials each child will be most stimulated by/can handle). She speaks the child's language and directs them constructively to focus on their "works." And my daughter loves her! Sabrina, the director, is caring, understanding, and gracious. Various persons in the program greet each child with a handshake at the beginning of each day- a great way to exemplify "grace and courtesy" to the children. I wish they were closer to our home, but would recommend the "watch me grow" and 2y/o 1/2 day pre primary program to anyone.
