My son attended Miramonte for years, from the start the teachers, who are no longer there, were great with my son, my experience in the beginning was good what concerned me is that the teachers were moved around allot, new changes many administrators that were making cosmetic changes and not focusing on the children, many times I viewed camera or walked onto the playground and witness bullying while teachers were visiting each other. my son started resisting to come to daycare and his moods changed for the worst; after leaving the daycare and finding another daycare that worked so well with my son, we were able to find out that my son was not only being bullied by the other children, two of the daycare teachers were also bullying and name calling him. This was found out after counselors were working with my son, he was comfortable enough to talk to the counselors and had I listened to previous teachers who worked there I could have saved my son the agony of experiencing this. Happy ending though he is in a better daycare, with stability and patience they have taught him so much in such a short time. Miramonte is a day care if you need someone to watch your child, not so good if you want your child to learn ABC's 123's
I brought my grandson to this daycare when he was 6 weeks old, he has grown with the staff, he is nearly 2. I, like any other parent have my days of OH NO! days, But for the most part the daycare is attentive and do their best to keep all children in a calm environment. You must expect that children under two and up are learning to get along with one another and it can be rough sometimes to keep them all happy. This is why I am glad of the cameras, this gives me the reassurance that I can experience my child and his social skills and see how the providers handle him. The only thing I am sad about is they rotate teachers to other schools too often, other than that I would recommend this daycare.
If I could rate 0 stars, I would. The staff are extremely unprofessional and untrained when it comes to children with special needs and bullying. My son has been here for a little more than 4 months and so far he’s hated every day of it, I can see him through the cameras and see that he’s being bullied constantly by his classmates- when I confronted his teacher about it she said it never happened. I’m looking for a new school for him.
