Description: The CalWORKs Child Care Program helps families access immediate, quality and affordable child care as they move through their Welfare-to-Work (WtW) activities towards employment and self-sufficiency. It promotes parental choice and ensures that families have child care that is stable enough to move off cash assistance. The program is administered by the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) and California Department of Education (CDE). There are three different “Stages” of CalWORKs Child Care (see below for descriptions).
Where possible, ChildcareCenter provides inspection reports as a service to families. This information is deemed reliable, but is not guaranteed. We encourage families to contact the daycare provider directly with any questions or concerns, as the provider may have already addressed some or all issues. Reports can also be verified with your local daycare licensing office.
