Violation Observed: Ensure the licensed center is operating in the approved licensed space. At the time of the inspection on 5/23/23 and 6/20/23, the center was being used by another entity since the licensed program does not currently have children enrolled. Interviews with landlord indicated the alternate program was temporarily using the space, but the sponsor representative stated that the licensed center would be operating there starting on 6/19/23. At the time of the inspection on 6/20/23, no one from the licensed center was present, and the space was still being utilized by the alternate program that was there on 5/23/23 and 6/20/23. Upon the next reinspection, which will occur on or after 7/5/23, if the licensed center does not have children present in the licensed space as required, the license will be closed and the center will need to reapply as a new center to operate in the future.

As a condition of securing a license or Certificate of Life/Safety Approval, the sponsor or sponsor representative shall ensure that a Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) fingerprint background check is completed for himself or herself, and for all staff members at least 18 years of age who are or will be working at the center on a regularly- scheduled basis, to determine whether any such person has been convicted of a crime, as specified in P.L. 2000, c. 77 (N.J.S.A. 30:5B-6.10 to 6.17). The sponsor or sponsor representative and each staff member shall complete the electronic fingerprinting process through the vendor authorized by the State to conduct CHRI background checks through the Division of State Police in the Department of Law and Public Safety and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
