Description: Little Chick’s specializes in children from 6 weeks to 3 years old. This inclusive environment allows us to provide for a child’s needs in 3 distinctive developmental age groups. Your 6 week to 15 month old starts in our “Pooh Room”. With a ratio of 1-5 we are able to focus developmental milestones using tummy time, sitting up, rolling over, songs, finger plays and other developmental activities.
In the “Very Hungary Caterpillar Room” our babies are transforming into pre-school kids. Children in this special classroom enjoy more fun and interactive self help activities such as painting, gluing, song, story time and other theme activities that are age appropriate for the kids in the class at that time.
Older children ready start being a big boy/girl will love the “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom” room as it is designed for self exploration while defining large motor skills. The pre-school activities start in this class with a more defined circle time, art activities, 3 step directions, potty training and all the extra fun things we offer based on the season and the age appropriateness in that class.
Once the children reach the age of 3 they are prepared to transfer to the Canyon Creek Academy which is just around the block. Here they will continue in their growth with pre-kindergarten prep and educational play.

Upon touring the center I felt right at home. Niki the owner is wonderful and is more than accomadating to our needs. We have had 2 children who went to little chicks from the time they were 6wks old until 3yrs. The staff are knowledgeable and attentive to the children and parents. My children were always happy and never wanted to leave when I would get there for pickup. I highly recommend little chicks to everyone.
My son attended this center from the time he was six months old until he turned 3 and could no longer attend. Being a single dad made choosing a daycare a challenging experience, I am so glad that I found Little Chicks. My son grew and learned so much in their care. The staff always made us feel welcome and provided sound advice and great resources for me in times when being a single dad got tough, A big thank you to the girls who offered to sit for me when I had to work late.

I would not recommend this daycare center to anyone. The business owner, Niki, is corrupt and practices fuzzy accounting practices. I have walked in and heard the teachers yelling at the children, telling them to go sit in timeout in a corner. The kitchen is dirty, and my child has thrown up on several different occasions because of unhealthy food preparation practices. When you walk in, the children are always crying - especially the infants. The teacher is always standing behind the counter, ignoring them, while doing paperwork. There is very little positive teacher/child interaction. The infants are thrown in one of those mobile rockers so the teachers won't be bothered with actually getting on the floor with them and engaging their minds. I would never recommend this daycare to anyone.
Don't waste your time or money.
In addition to providing meager care for your child, you may also get screwed over by the owner and her deplorable business practices.
I never felt my child was in danger here, but she received no educational training, and very basic care.
After changing classrooms, I should have been charged at a lesser rate. I did not realize this until 10 months later and when I brought it to the owner's attention, she actively avoided responding to my questions and began ignoring my emails. When I finally demanded an answer, she stated I signed a contract for a certain rate and that was that. Even though, very clearly, the terms of the contract had changed. I feared leaving my child there any longer and continuing to speak to the owner about the sitation.
Now that my child is no longer in her care, I don't have to worry about the retribution she might suffer from the owner, Niki, I want to make it very clear that I think Little Chicks and Hatchlings has very unethical business practices and should not be used.
Our infant son attended Little Chicks and Hatchlings until we sadly moved 40 minutes away. From day one he received the absolute best care we could have asked for. He was held, nurtured, loved, and above all - HAPPY every single day we picked him up. Drop ins are welcome, the teachers were incredibly patient with a new mom, the hours and flexibility were helpful. The rooms were clean (as clean as they can be with babies crawling around drooling, spitting up, and gumming everything! And we know how well Toddlers are at making a mess!!). The owner was so understanding in helping us transition into this new world of daycare. In all of our time there and out of the various times we dropped off and picked up, my husband and I NEVER saw the TV on, EVER. We also never saw any child get hurt because they were left alone in a room to stand on a table. Babies /toddlers are bruisers by nature, so they get hurt regardless of whose care they are in. My baby was always clean, happy and healthy the entire time he was in LC&H's care. I have recommended this day care facility to numerous families and will continue to do so!
I so agree with above comment!Had the same experience when I took my kids there, dirty YES!!! inexperienced teachers that don't care YES!!! Outdoor playground is a slab of concrete Unsafe YES I advice you DON not take your children there !!!
If anyone is interested or thinking of placing their children in Little Chicks and Hatchlings Daycare think again! This daycare is located at: 5877 W Elmhurst Avenue
Littleton, CO 80128-5918 it is a complete dump and disgusting atmosphere. When you first enter the driveway you will be greeted with cigarette butts (which the director told me was "public property") so your little kids can pick them up on their way into and also on their way out of daycare. The intfant room's teacher is barefoot so all the little babies can crawl around the floor with her dirty feet. You will often see a teacher changing a child with no one else watching the other children as they jump off tables and get hurt. The children all walk around with snot hanging out of their noses because no teacher is ever helping them. Their are tv's in every room so your children can watch tv all day so the teachers do not have to teach or help your children. I do not know how the state of Colorado has not shut down this daycare. It is a very unsafe and unhealthy environment to place your children in. Their license needs to be taken away.
Keep your children from a very very harmful and dangerous atmosphere and do not put them in Little Chicks and Hatchlings Daycare.
