This preschool is like walking into the 1980's. A lot has changed in education since then but this school is still the same and they are not open to making changes. We attended the program in Ruby 2 (2012-2013) which is the Mothers Day out program but advertised as preschool. We had no problems and very caring teachers who took the time to understand each child and make changes to accommodate them.

The director never impressed me but we stayed for the next year because we didn't want our son to go through any more change because of the new baby. The hours are also a plus. Shame on me, should have gone with my gut. He was in Emerald 2 (fall of 2013) and was bored out of his mind with lots of sitting, teachers texting and chatting a lot and kids were just expected to play in small spaces by themselves (babysitting).

He was accused by the director of behaviors from the previous year that were not true which shows me she wasn't a fan of him and had negative thoughts about him to carry stuff over from that long ago (even though it didn't happen). Kids are definitely labeled here and stuff is carried over them and never forgotten.

If the kid requires extra effort or changes to their day they have no desire to accommodate them. My son was diagnosed with sensory processing disorder and needed a little more movement in his day. He was observed on the Friday before thanksgiving break and his therapist left ideas on how to help him be successful. He was then out for a week and a half due to the break and returned the next time he was scheduled to go. I spoke directly to the director who said she observed him and that he did great during the times she saw him. The next day she kicked him out. None of the therapist's ideas were ever used.

The bottom line is if kids require them to get off their butts and do organized activities instead of sitting around and chatting they aren't accepted. I encourage you to observe the entire day multiple times if you chose this school. I also encourage you to look around and find what option fits you and your child(ren) the most. I wish I had done more research and not ended up putting my son through the negativity he went through there.
