Unfortunately, we used this provider for nearly a year, and suddenly, serious concerns came up about the abilities of the provider to care for our children, specifically one child who is sensitive to favoritism and exclusion. Contractual limitations were used to keep several hundreds dollars without providing services and the provider responded emotionally volatile and erratic.
I truly hope this daycare will take feedback to improve their care but at the moment my experience highlighted a mixture of ill-equipped or overwhelmed staff that has difficulty understanding child behavior. After nearly a year of our 3yo and 4yo attending with sparce reports of any behavioral issues, our 4yo was suddenly excused and suspended within a week.
The behaviors were foreign to us and conflicted amongst the teachers. But after long talks with our 4yo we found that he felt singled-out and excluded. This aligned with small things he'd told us for a while but we didn't understand such as him saying one of the teachers "hates" him and he is not allowed in "teacher park" (backyard) anymore. He is affected greatly by favoratism amongst the other children (some being related to staff) and defensive of his 3yo brother. Nevertheless, the staff suspended him because they were unable to "manage" or "calm" him despite then teacher saying he was crying "I love my brother" and "my family loves me" when he felt removed from his brother during play. This is not billigerance but a cry for support.
Perhaps staff waited too long to tell us his recent attitude changes or over-commited in number of clients, but I cannot recommend. After suspending our 4yo we were not comfortable with either returning and our request for refund was harshly denied on contractual terms (including refund for unexpected closure). This felt odd considering the staff even previously spoke of only following some procedures when being audited and was not able to give a consistent number of children being supported. (One teacher said 6, the other said 7 but 6 at once and one teacher named 8 including our sons).
To the teachers, thank you for support you did provide, but genuine concerns and feedback being dismissed and refusal to return money for services not-provided is really not a good business or neighborhood practice. My only hope is that the several hundred dollars will at least be used for the children still at the daycare.
Ashley and her teachers have provided the absolute best care to my two children. It is a clean, happy, well managed daycare that my children are excited to attend each morning. Ashley communicates well, her rates are wonderful and the kids always are well taken care of. Highly recommend.
