2024-11-25 Renewal 3270.54(a) - Two facility persons present in facility Compliant - Finalized

Regulation: 3270.54(a)

Description: Two facility persons present in facility

Noncompliance Area: On 11-25-24 during the unannounced renewal inspection, observed staff person #1 alone with 2 children at 7:09 a.m. until staff #2 arrived at 7:10 a.m.

Correction Required: At least two facility persons shall be present in the facility when two or more children are in care. At a minimum, one of the facility persons shall be a staff person.

Provider Response: (Contact the State Licensing Office for more information.)
We were told by our licensing representatives that we are able to disagree with the violation, but we must still write a correction for the violation we disagree with, so that we can receive our certificate of compliance and continue providing wonderful care to our students. On 11/25/24, one of our teachers, (Staff #2) who was scheduled at 7:00 AM, was having car trouble. Staff #2 arrived at 7:09 AM (9 minutes late). Staff #1 was with 1 student from 7:00 AM until 7:10 AM, which is permitted, and then with 2 students from 7:09 AM- 7:10 AM (for 30 seconds to 1 minute), until Staff #2 came INTO the building. We completely disagree that this violation was even given to us because Staff #2 was on the property, actually walking in right behind the 2nd student who arrived. We were told previously that the 2nd staff person needs to be ON the property, not IN the classroom, so the violation should not been given. We would like further clarification.

The evacuation routes and evacuation plans to exit the building may be the same as those required by §3270.94 (relating to fire drills).

Common questions

The answers people ask us for most often.

How do I contact a provider I found here?

In most cases the provider’s direct number is included in their listing. When it is not, we list the number of the Child Care Licensing Program — you may call that number for more information, or search for the provider online.

Will ChildcareCenter pass a message on to a provider for me?

No. ChildcareCenter only provides information, so enrolment questions, tuition questions and job enquiries need to go to the provider directly using the contact details on their listing. We cannot forward them and we cannot share contact details a provider has not published.

I run a daycare — how do I correct or remove my listing?

Use suggest an update on your listing to correct any detail, or claim the listing to manage it yourself. If you have closed or no longer provide care, contact us and we will update the listing to show that.
