I have used this provider for less than 6 months

So bad. I sent my infant daughter here for about 6months and I still cry in guilt for it. It's so bad I can't begin to explain. This place should not be in business. Those poor kids. The colleges should know not to send theie students here too even though the students are great. The owner is awful in many ways. This whole experience was incredibly bad. They've been reported and been to court I know for things that go on in the center. So bad.

I have toured this provider's facility, but have not used its services

Unprofessional owner. Employees talk about parents to other parents. Employees in the phone all day. Staff talks about their nights out and drinking. Children get screamed at.

I have used this provider for less than 6 months

I have witnessed staff calling children skum bags and other terrible names. I have witnessed children getting balls whipped at their face. I have witnessed children in time out for long periods of time. Children sit in soiled diapers for absurd amount of time causing rashes. Staff are non stop on their phones and gossiping to each other instead of focusing on the children. Classrooms are left way out of ration. The biggest problem is staff hitting children , dragging them by the arms , slamming them in the floor. Need I go on? I would not recommend this so called daycare to my worst enemy.

Concern for children... 2015-07-17 01:51:10
I have used this provider for more than 6 months

Lil'Sailors Day Care in Swoyersville should NOT be in business. They do not give daily progress reports. They don't discuss behavioral issues with parents. They arbitrarily throw kids out of their facility without even notifying the parents that there was even a problem in the first place! They do not allow parents to walk into the room where the children are kept. Which is ILLEGAL!

I get a phone call this morning from the OWNER telling me there is a problem with my grandson. I immediately get worried and ask if he is okay. She then says to me in an ignorant condescending tone of voice, that I need to come get him and he's not welcome back. What?!!! Now first of all... Why are they calling me and not my daughter? Why is it in all the time he's gone there we have NEVER been told about a single problem and we ask how his day went every time we pick him up? I ask her this question. Her response... "Well we don't report every little thing." Yes, yes you ARE supposed to report EVERYTHING. In the next breath she says every time a kid gets bit, we know it's him. Woah!! Back up... He bit someone enough times that you just "know" it's him and we have never heard about it even once? Yet we have never seen him bite anyone when he's with us on the other 4 days and 7 nights in the week? You call biting a small incident? Then she goes on to tell me he's hit children with toys and gave a kid a black eye! WHAT??!!!! No one in our family has ever seen him get violent. Temper tantrum.. Yes. But violent? Her words "a danger to other children." That's a pretty ballsy thing to say considering we've never been called even once about anything! In fact, when we asked, we were repeatedly told that he's such an angel and how's he's their little buddy and such a good boy. Uh, something isn't adding up here.

To add insult to injury.. She, the owner doesn't even come out of the office to speak to us when we go pick him up. Didn't bother to give us the money back that we had already prepaid for weeks in advance. But the director who looks to be little more than a child herself, decides it was a good idea to say that my grandson is underdeveloped from other kids his age, and that he has anger issues and we should get him help. Do they even know what underdeveloped means? Because the babies doctor does and he believes the baby is very intelligent and right on track with his development. What did they possibly hope to gain from insulting us further?

No refund of the prepaid money was returned. No final statement of account was given. No dated formal letter explaining exactly why he was being "expelled" was given. No incident reports were ever given to us to sign. No incident reports were ever given to us at all. No one ever called to discuss any alleged behavioral issues with us.

But fortunately we DO have pictures of bite marks and bruises on the baby. I also know that my grandson used to cry when I took him there. Now I have to wonder if it was because he was afraid?

I am reporting the facility to the authorities as well as any other agency that I feel should be made aware of the lack of procedures and lack of professionalism. As well as them not allowing parents into the play area.

I know my in-law questioned the legality of that. I also know she said she would ask a friend of hers about it. The owner admitted to me today that my grandson was having a temper tantrum while the inspector was there. I believe the owner thought they were there because my in-law made a call, so she punished my grandson for it. I've heard several horror stories similar to my own about this place.
