About the Provider

The Lenawee Intermediate School District (LISD) is a regional educational service agency providing educational leadership and support services to Lenawee County’s 12 public local school districts. District staff work to provide services that are difficult or impossible for individual districts to provide on their own. The LISD provides educational services to the following Lenawee County school districts. The LISD is one of 57 intermediate school districts established in Michigan in 1962. ISDs are regional service agencies that offer support services to school personnel that are best delivered regionally, as measured by cost, size and quality advantages. The LISD is an autonomous, tax supported public school district governed by the laws of the State of Michigan.

The mission of Michigan’s educational service agencies (ISDs, RESAs, RESDs) is to provide visionary leadership and quality services to strengthen teaching and learning for all citizens. The mission of the Lenawee Intermediate School District is to prepare people to function effectively in a changing world by providing and coordinating quality education opportunities and support services, innovatively and responsively, in partnership with our communities. The American democratic experiment demands an effective system of public education to strengthen and advance the American ideal and to promote the "common good." With courage, boldness, and urgency, the LISD recognizes and accepts its responsibility to insure that today's education will meet tomorrow's challenges.
