Description: Here at Springboard, we are all excited to begin the 2014-2015 school year. We look forward to being back with our partner schools and we are eager to join our new school community at KIPP Webb-Campus in Washington, DC. As you may know, we are based in Massachusetts; however, we have established many programs throughout the United States.
At Springboard, we understand the importance of high-quality after school programming that helps children succeed. We are a revolutionary after-school program that provides children with academic, enrichment, and fun recreational opportunities and we pride ourselves on being the first after school program in the nation to recognize the crucial importance of a schools extended day, by providing affordable vital after school academic help with professional school teachers.

We've had an awful experience with Springboard. Teachers are rude, extremely abrasive with the kids (often yelling at them for minor infractions such as asking the teacher a question when they're talking to a parent), and they're often just not engaged. I've often come in to pick up my children to find teachers playing cell phone games while the kids are watching Cupcake Wars instead of getting their homework done. I've observed this several times each week. My kids have complained that they can't even concentrate on their homework because of distractions like movies running while they're trying to work or getting bullied by their classmates. Teachers pick favorites and will often target other students with disciplinary action for the crime of being different. Additionally, bullying is not addressed effectively -- often the teachers are as much the bully as the other children.
We had an awesome experience with LearnIt in previous years -- Springboard was a good program, when they had good teachers. Unfortunately, the good teachers never stay long. Whether this is due to poor management, poor pay, or some other factor, the teachers that remain are the worst.
If you're looking at Springboard as an after-school solution, please reconsider. It's not worth the trouble you'll undoubtedly experience.
