Below is a review from yelp regarding the previous owner of the childcare center at 6000 mimosa drive tucker, ga. This owner now works as a bus driver and director at the kid r kids on 480 pleasant hill road by the lawrenceville walmart. I remember he was convicted of child abuse at his former school and was shut down. Now I find that he is working at the same school that my nephew and I just toured. This place is not safe for your child. Please do your research and find better options for your family. Are these places even doing good background checks to make sure these children are safe? This is crazy.
There are enough bad reviews of this place on Google+, so I thought I'd do parents a favor and post my review on Yelp instead, just in case anyone is thinking about placing their child in this facility and happens to miss the other reviews.
The year that my child suffered at this facility was an absolute nightmare for me (and for my child) and I feel guilty to this day for keeping my child there as long as I did. To start with, the front desk lady is the rudest, most unprofessional person I've ever had to deal with and has no business working around children. 4 out of 5 days I would drop my child off, she never even looked up from texting on her phone to see me drop off or pick up my child. Occasionally the owner, Annette, would be sitting up front when i would pick up or drop off my child, and she is actually really nice... she's pretty much the only bearable staff at this place. Her husband, Steve, is the root of all problems in this facility. He is extremely demeaning, rude and disrespectful to the parents (and his wife), and he treated myself and my child in a way that nobody should be treated by anyone in their life. The staff is fearful of him and could never answer any of my questions or make any decisions without going through him first, and my child was terrified of him. TERRIFIED. And soon my child who once LOVED going to school, never wanted to go any more. That's when I knew something was very wrong.
I was called a liar, lazy, a bad mother, and that my child was autistic, out of control and would not make it through elementary school. He was constantly threatening to kick my child out of preschool on a weekly basis, telling me that he had a long list of children just waiting to take my child's place. My child is now in kindergarten and thriving, reading and writing on a 2nd grade level and is far from "retarded" or "autistic". The way this man talked to his wife and children and mother (who works there too) in front of the kids and their parents just baffles me still to this day. I feel so sorry for his wife and you can tell she is very unhappy, which is why she is hardly ever there. She is the owner and I think this place would benefit from having her there more.
Luckily I came to my senses and placed my child at Discovery Point and while I wouldn't rate it 5 stars, the staff and teachers are all so so nice and that in itself gives me so much more peace of mind. I don't get threatening phone calls every day from Steve and there is no tension in the place when I drop off/pick up my child. Parents, please beware of this place. Read the other reviews on other sites before making a decision.

Kids R Kids # 44 was the third day care center that my child attended in one year . My child is allergic to everything under the sun and the other 2 places didn't offer my child the safe environment that I was looking for him. My son was in Ms Buss' Private PreK class.I don't have enough words to thank my son's teachers ( Ms Buss , Ms Mel& Ms Gina - the before and after school teachers)for helping me to keep my son safe and healthy ( he has severe food allergies ). The owner - Mr David is really nice and helpful and he doesn't act like a "know it all " , he listens to you and doesn't make you feel like " that crazy parent " . My son has bad pollen allergies and Mr David was so helpful when I asked him to keep my son inside while the pollen count was high and keep the windows closed in his classroom . I was really , really happy with this place and I am really hard to please !!! Thank you everybody at Kids R Kids # 44 !
