My toddler was bit more than 10 times in less than 3 months. When I lost count of how many times my child was truly bitten because many of the bites went unreported by the daycare. The director, Stacie W., made a lot of bottomless promises including that she would shadow the class and the biter until the biting was under control (she would be in the classroom for a few MINUTES a day, if at all), and she claimed she called DHS for help with the chronic biting situation, but when I contacted DHS they said they hadn't received ANY communication from her about this problem AT ALL. Initially, I was very understanding and cooperative to work through the biting issue, as I understand it is a developmentally appropriate behavioral issue. But when the bites persisted consistently with absolutely no follow-up or pro-activity by the director Stacie W. I had to remove my child from being harmed any further. The day I pulled my child out of Kidopolis after my child had been bit AGAIN (second time just that week) I was crying when I was talking to Stacie W. because I was so hurt and frustrated that my child keeps getting targeted and subjected to pain and she keeps allowing it to happen. I asked to speak to her boss (a pastor of Heartland church, the daycare is located inside the Heartland church) and Stacie W. left the room to go get the pastor so I could speak to him about the biting issue. When Stacie W. left the room another mother who had seen the commotion came over to me and said "I feel your pain. My child has been here for "such&such" time and when my child was that age they got bit all the time and Stacie W. didn't do sh*t about it. Even now my child will get hurt when the kids are fighting and roughhousing and they don't do anything about it. IT DOESN'T GET BETTER......" I was so upset I never got a chance to thank that mother who came over and told me that and I wish I had. So if your considering Kidopolis, my advice is: RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
