Description: Bienvenido a Carol’s House! We are very proud of our thirty year family-owned daycare tradition, providing young children a place to be children. Our philosophy for each child, as seen in our daycare’s daily activities, is to encourage:
respect for each other
reverence for our earth
understanding of others’ rights and feelings
self-reliance
safety and good health habits
cooperation and kindness between children of many ages
self-control
cognitive achievement
curiosity and an excitement for learning
Although the primary focus is on affective learning, we also provide high quality cognitive learning opportunities through play, games, songs, and small and large group learning activities. Play materials inside are constantly being rotated to encourage children to play in the science area, the dress-up room, the library, the art area, and the games and large motor area. In many locations outside in our yards, climbing and riding toys give children the opportunity to develop large motor muscles. Imaginative play is encouraged both inside and outside and, although we follow a daily routine, children have lots of time to think, look at books, talk to each other, play pretend, explore, and investigate.
We have a wonderful mix of cultures at our daycare. Children from many countries share their customs and languages. Parents and children enjoy our annual family picnic and find similarities and differences in cultures. From sign language to Chinese, Carol’s house children learn numbers and songs in a variety of languages.
We provide morning and afternoon snacks every day and prepare a nutritious lunch Monday through Thursday. Children bring their lunches on the first and third Fridays and pay $2.50 for pizza on the second and fourth (and fifth when applicable) Fridays.
For many years we provided after school care for elementary school aged children. We also allowed families to determine individual schedules. Recent changes have forced us to change our pay rate to a flat, monthly, full-time fee. Carol’s House is open from 7:45 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. We are closed one week each summer and on major holidays.
Children think Carol’s House is a great place to have fun as they learn. Carol, Dan, and Noah work hard to help children develop into interesting, competent, caring people. If you are interested in having your child or children come to Carol’s House, please let us know! We will be happy to provide more details.
Where possible, ChildcareCenter provides inspection reports as a service to families. This information is deemed reliable, but is not guaranteed. We encourage families to contact the daycare provider directly with any questions or concerns, as the provider may have already addressed some or all issues.
